Lost in Chinatown- Lantern Hotel Review and Petaling Street
Tuesday, January 22, 2019To go there, you may take LRT station and stop at “Pasar Seni” station and you may walk in less than 10 minutes to reach the hotel. Driving is not recommended as it’s quite difficult to find a parking space nearby.
The hotel staff was great. Quite friendly and accommodating. Reception is on the 2nd floor. The entrance to the hotel is behind some market stalls on the street….but you’ll find it.
Rooms @Lantern Hotel. Taken from Lantern Hotel website |
We had chosen our room which had the “veranda”. It’s a little glassed in patio that extends to inside the hotel atrium.
The bed was comfortable. Shower was a rain-head shower, lots of hot water. There were some hooks on wall to hang clothes. And a small shelf. No desk or other shelves to store stuff….but we made it work. Wifi was super slow and a bit hit and miss at times
The room card needs to be inserted for power, so everything shuts down when you leave. Air conditioner was on the wall over the bed and worked quite well – just keep setting a bit low and leave it on (so it’s not too loud).
Breakfast was a choice of freshly-brewed coffee/tea, orange juice, milk, bread with butter (or jam). You can sit at the atrium, or on adjacent outside deck and either one was great.
Lovin’ the moment of having our breakfast at the nice terrace located at the 2nd floor.
This hotel has a good security – key card controlled access to the hotel. Room was mostly quiet during our stay….we didn’t have an outside window (just “veranda” that faced hotel atrium) so that helped.
Since the price for a room costs less than RM 150, you get what you pay for, I guess.
Apart from the Lantern Hotel, we paid a visit at “Lost in Chinatown” We actually walked the hidden maze which is made up of different intriguing space designs. This attraction has provided wonderful opportunities for a photo op, or simply a selfie and the best thing is, its FREE
We also paid a visit at the award-winning "River of Life".
and the hipster LoKL cafe.
This cafe reminds me of cafes in Australia
