UK Part 3 (Bath)
Tuesday, December 26, 2017Our next destination in England, I knew I wanted to see more than just London, so all of us (cousins & I) planned a day trip to Bath. We knew it as the setting for Persuasion, one of my favorite Jane Austen books and film adaptations.
We stayed via AirBnB- somewhere 15 mins near Bath city centre (via car) & we started our exploration at the Roman Bath, the biggest attraction in the city. There are still remains of a Roman settlement on this site.
Visiting Bath is an unforgettable experience with its blend of incredible attractions, chopping, architecture and history. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has some of the best architectural marvels, 17 museums and sites in Europe. With so many sites to see and things to do in Bath, there will never be a dull moment you can find here.
If you’re looking to see more of England outside of the capital, then I can highly recommend Bath which combines all the necessary factors of history, heritage, finesse and countryside charm.
Unfortunately, we had to rush back to London hence, we did not have time to enter the Roman Bath and the traffic was a bit congested hence we left Bath around noon. But hey, we still managed to capture few snapshots at this historic city:
Posing outside of the Cathedral
Some queer looking stones
Avon River
