For those who dont know Yasmin Ahmad, let me tell you .She is a famous director in Malaysia and had won many awards for her success.I do enjoy watching her movies like Mohsin, Sepet etc which show about the beauty of Malaysian cultures.

Well, yesterday, I watched the news in a local channel. What I found out was that Yasmin Ahmad suffered stroke when she was at TV3 for a undisclosed meeting with Dato' Siti Nurhaliza- the famous Malaysian singer. She had collapsed during the meeting and her incident reminded me of my uncle- Pak Din.

Pak Din is my father's younger brother. He used to be an accountant in one the top-firm in Malaysia. He has everything, a perfect job, a nice house, high-paid salary, travelling abroad but he never married.

My uncle has suffered stroke since 2005 when I was 14 years old. He collapsed during a meeting just like Yasmin Ahmad. He was admitted to specialist hospital in Kuala Lumpur and remained unconcscious for few days. After he regained consciousness, he realized that he couldnt talk anymore and the right part of his body seemed to be paralyzed. I still remembered that he always cried when people came to visit him. I felt pity towards him. Imagine he couldnt talk, couldnt walk and couldnt do anything like he used to do before the stroke attack. He is now a HANDICAPPED PERSON.
About few weeks after the incident, Pak Din was transferred to one of Malacca's private hospital. My grandmother and my aunt took care of him. Pak Din began to admitt his fate right now. He is now started to be optimist and looking forward to be back to his old- healthy body.
He can walk but only using his left leg and left hand. He can only speak certain words. The doctor told us that Pak Din's vocabulary had gone vanished just like " a library that had been flooded and it needs time for the books inside the library to be reorganized"Pak Din also goes to various treatment. He seeks for traditional medication treatment, acupunture, goes to the speacialist, physiotheraphists, etc. Pak Din also takes a lot of medicines and I can see boxes of medicines in his room.
Now Pak Din doesnt work anymore. He gets money from the insurance, SOCSO etc. He is now living happily, relaxing ( he used to be over-workaholic when he work
ed as an accountant). He also grows vegetables at home, exerxising, reading and started learning the alphabets and does simple Mathematics. I am pretty confident that he will recover sooner or later.

Well, back to Yasmin Ahmad, I pray for your recovery. You have to stay optimist and believe me, there must be blessings in disguise on things that happen to us. We need to be strong in facing all the 'tests' given by Him.
