Situation/ background

With over 6.5 billion people on the planet, it is perhaps just as well that we eat different things. The human diet is influenced by geography, culture and spending power.

Story / Example / Anecdote

My grandfather never had yoghurt, pizza, or McD. I dont know what he would have thought of Pringles (etc). He did, however, have potatoes and vegetables from his own farm. His choices were partly cultural, geoghraphical, social and partly economical.

Question

Why do Italians eat tomatoes? Why do Irish eat potataoes? What did children eat before McD or pizzas ? This essay will look at same of geographies, cultural and economic factors which affect people’s choice of food worldwide.
